Jordan
The market in downtown Amman
Amman, the capital of Jordan, doesn’t have the grand souks or bazaars such as those in Istanbul or Cairo. What Amman does have is a modest, colourful market selling a large variety of spices, fruits, tea, pickles, vegetables, nuts and poultry. I recommend a stroll around this market, just a stone’s throw away from the Al-Husyni Grand Mosque, to soak up the atmosphere and grab a bag of pistachios, tea (fresh camomile or hibiscus) or spices.
