Sunset in the Lake District
I sat on the pier and watched as the sun slowly dipped below the hills, bathing the sky and Windermere in gold. A stunning end to a gorgeous day at the Lake District in England. This picture was taken near the Waterhead Hotel in Ambleside.

The John Rylands Library in Manchester
The historic John Rylands Library on Deansgate in Manchester is one of the most beautiful libraries I’ve ever seen. The central hall, with its stained glass windows and gorgeous arches, is especially impressive.

My favourite shop in Grasmere
Grasmere is a charming village in Cumbria’s Lake District. If you’re visiting Grasmere, drop by the Herdy shop for the cutest Herdwick sheep souvenirs, like these irresistible Herdy banks. Oh, and ask them to start making fridge magnets too, like the one I found in Patagonia (pictured below). Sheep wool and fridge magnets make a fab combination!

Welcome to Windermere!
As I walked towards Windermere in Cumbria’s Lake District, I was greeted by a bevy of swans and ducks. This swan seemed to say “Welcome” but I stayed clear of it!

The façade of the Selfridges building in Birmingham, England, is covered with 16,000 silver pellets, giving the structure a unique, futuristic appearance.
